Head Lice Symptoms: 

• Severe itching of the scalp
• Small white specks (lice eggs or nits) on the bottom of a strand of hair that is difficult to remove (sometimes it looks like dandruff)
• Tiny red bumps on the scalp, neck and sometimes shoulders.  They are easier to see on the neck and over the ears.
• Lice on clothing and scalp may be difficult to see. 

Head Lice Prevention:

• It is important to never share hair brushes, combs, hats, bedding towels, clothing or hair pieces with someone who you suspect has hair lice.
• Some schools have policies to ensure the environment is clear of lice so that re-infestation can be avoided.
• Treatment is recommended even if only one egg is found.
